initial momentum of the bodies= final momentum of the same bodies provided no external force is applied.

given to us:,-

m1=100g

m2=200g

u1= 2m/s

u2= 1m/s

v1=1.67m/s

v2=?

substitute all these values in the formula: we get,

100(2) + 200(1) = 100(1.67) + 200(v2)

200+200=167 + 200v2

400-167=200v2

233=200v2

233/200=v2

v2= 1.165m/s

hence the velocity of the second object is 1.165m/s
