Superposition Principle :-
The contribution of linear source in a network comprising of linear element can be considered as the sum of individual contribution of each of the source.
- Therefore, for considering the contribution of a particular element, we need to remove certain element from the circuit.
- We short circuit the power source to neglect it while a current source is open circuited.
Steps :-
- I have first short circuited the power source (18 V) to see the contribution of the two current source in the current passing between a and b.
- Source transformation is used to convert current source into voltage source. To see how source transformation works, refer to the first attachment. Let the current in this case be .
- After that, I open circuited the two current source and determined current to see the contribution of voltage source.
- Then, we need to add the two currents to get the total current in the terminal.
