Helppppp plssss.......

The length of a rectangular farm is twice of it's breadth. Find the length and breadth of the rectangular farm if its perimeter is 30 metre.

Answer:

Let the length be 2x and breadth be x

then,

Area, 2x

=288

⇒x

2

=144

⇒x=12

∴2x=24

Hence length=24,breadth=12

∴Perimeter =2(12+24)=72cm

Let the breadth of rectangular farm=x metre

The length of rectangular farm=2x metre

Perimeter of the rectangular farm=30 metre

We know that

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

30=2(2x+x)

30=2(3x)

or

30=6x or 6x =30

Dividing both sides by 6, we get

6x/6 = 30/6

x=5

Hence breadth of the rectangular farm=5 metre

length of the rectangular farm =2×5=10 metre
