hen a spoonful of sugar is added to a beaker containing water the level of water does not increase.

as the water is liquid and particles of liquid have small space between them, and when we add sugar in it sugar get dissolved as it get fixed/occupy space between the particles of matter . hence there is no rise in the level of water even after dissolving sugar.
