sample 6: Two equal sides of an isosceles triangle are (4x + 1) units and (3x + 7) units,
respectively. If the third side is (2x + 3) units, then find the length of the equal sides o
the isosceles triangle and its perimeter.​

Answer:

Equate the expressions for the two equal sides.

3 x - 1 = 2 x +2

3 x - 2 x = 2 + 1

x = 3

the sides are 3 x -1 , 2x +2 , 2x

so    3*3 -1 ,  2*3 + 2 , and  2*3

that is        8, 8, and 6  units

perimeter is the sum of all sides :  8+8+6 = 22 units
