INTRODUCTION

Henri Fayol (Istanbul, 29 July 1841 Paris, 19 November 1925) was a French mining engineer, mining executive, author and director of mines who developed a general theory of business administration that is often called Fayolism. He and his colleagues developed this theory independently of scientific management but roughly contemporaneously. Like his contemporary, Frederick Winslow Taylor, he is widely acknowledged as a founder of modern management methods.

Henry Fayol purposed  principles for the management to upgrade the working conditions of the employee and brought a flexible and better understanding between the employee and employer.

EXPLANATION-

Henry Fayol proposed 14 principles for the management that bring scientific knowledge and mechanisms to it.

principles are -

1. Division of work - This says that the division of the work in an organization should be done based on the skill set and knowledge of the employee. Every task has its importance for the achievement of the specified goals and objectives of the organization.

2. Authority and Responsibility - The distribution of the "authority" the power of taking decisions and "responsibilities" the obligation to complete the task or actions. There should be equal distribution among the employees and in the structure of the organization to bring the efficiency and effectiveness for the organization.

3. Discipline - Discipline is the environment in which the task and action took down in an organization to maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.

4. Unity of Command- The unity of command refers to the one order to the subordinate on time. The subordinate should not be over-pressurized that hamper the smoothness of the operation in the organization.

5. Scalar chain - There is a systematic structure for working in an organization that follows up while communicating with an equal level of employee. But, if they have to communicate the upper-level position employees a chain should be followed.

6. Order - Order refers to the systematic pattern of working and synchronizing the task to achieve the attainment of the big goals and objectives.

7. Equality - There should not be any discrimination among the employees based on caste, color, religion, sex or education.

8. Stability of Tenure of Personnel - Maintaining the employee's stability in the organization is one main task done by the employer for the improvement.

9. Initiative- The employees should be enough motivated towards the task and its effectiveness and efficiency to bring the utmost of the task completion and goal attainment for the firm.

10. Esprit de Corps -  while working in an organization, the employees have their personal goals and objectives to achieve as per the firms too. This should be clear in the employee that the whole organization is a team by supporting and helping each other will bring more coordination and motivation towards working in an organization.
