Cat is a mammal whereas hen is a bird.

Explanation:

Hens have a reduced uterus, but a cat has a well-developed uterus because:-

  • Hens are birds(Aves). They are oviparous i.e, they lay eggs. So the use or uterus is very less.
  • Cats are mammals. They are viviparous i.e, the progeny is developed inside the body. As they have to carry the progeny inside their body. So, for this reason, the uterus of the cats is well developed.
  • The embryos formed after the fertilisation, develop into a fetus in the uterus or womb and the period of the development is called gestation period. For a cat, it is 58-67 days.
