At the Venus Women's “Box Cup” in Denmark, she got the gold medal in the year 2006 and won gold again during the AIBA WBC in India. After a year's break, in 2008 Mary Kom returned to the Asian Women's Championship for silver boxing, held in India, and captured a 4th consecutive gold medal at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship in China. In 2010, Mary Kom won the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship in Kazakhstan for a gold medal and her 5th consecutive gold medal. In the 48 kg weight class she competed because AIBA had stopped using 46 kg.
She also took part in the 51kg wt. class and won a bronze medal in the Asian Games. In Delhi, India, at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She had the distinction, alongside Vijender Singh, of carrying the Queen's Baton for the stadium opening ceremony. But she wasn't participating because women's boxing competitions weren't part of the Games. At the Asian women's Cup in China, she won a gold medal in 2011 in the 48kg mass division. In the year 2012, at the Asian Women's Boxing Championship in Mongolia, she won the gold medal in the 51kg mass division.
Her recognition and prestige at the 2012 London Olympics were earned by her becoming the first Indian women boxing medallist to compete at the Olympics. She competed in the 51kg wt. group and was also the third Indian to win an Olympic medal. She won the gold medal and made history for India in Asian Games in the year 2014. The gold she had won was her first gold medal at the Asian Games in the women's flyweight (48kg-52kg). Recently Mary Kom (51kg) went to the World Women's Boxing Championship quarter-finals following a hard-fought victory in the final 16-stage here.
