Answer:

The life of the Harappan farmers and herders was different from the farmers and herders because of the following reasons:

(i) Harappan farmers stored their food in granaries.

(ii) Harappan farmers irrigated their fields with flood waters.

Fields were mostly near rivers or other water sources.

To increasing their production they developed the different method of irrigation.

(iii) Harappan farmers lived on the outer area of the city.

Basically they lived in villages.

Yes I think that “life of farmers and herders who supplied food to Harappan cities” was totally different from farmers and herders the following three reasons:
In chapter three the farmer of rural areas were described whereas in the current lesson, framers of the urban areas were described.
The group who supplied food to Harappan cities was big when compared to that of framers and herders as discussed.
The framers and herders of the Harappan civilization produced food for themselves as well as for trade and business purpose, but the framers described in second part produced crop only for self use and not for trade.
