ANSWER:

Let ;

$x + y = 5.....(eq.1)$

$2x - 3y = 4.....(eq.2)$

multiply equation 1 with 2.

$(x + y) \times 2 = 5 \times 2 \\ 2x + 2y = 10....(eq .3)$

subtracting eq. 2 and eq.3

$(2x - 3y) - (2x + 2y) = 4 - 10$

$2x - 3y - 2x - 2y = - 6 \\ - 5y = - 6 \\ y = \frac{ - 5}{ - 6} \\ y = \frac{5}{6}$

putting the value of y in eq.1 ;

$x + \frac{5}{6} = 5 \\ \frac{6x + 5}{6} = 5 \\ 6x + 5 = 30 \\ 6x = 25 \\ x = \frac{25}{6}$

FINAL ANSWER :
