Here is a drawing of a cube with an edge length of 1 inch. How many cubes with an edge length of 1 2 inch are needed to fill this cube?

Answer :-

→ Volume of given cube = (edge)³ = (1)³ = 1 jnches³ .

now, given that, this cube needs to fill with an edge length of (1/2) inch .

so,

→ Volume of smaller cube that needs to fill = (edge)³ = (1/2)³ = (1/8) inches³ .

therefore,

→ Total number of cubes needed to fill = Volume of larger cube / Volume of smaller cube that needs to fill = 1 / (1/8) = 1 * (8/1) = 8 cubes (Ans.)
