Whoa whoa whoa, it seems too heavy but I can solve this for you. What do you know about diagonals? It is a line segment which connects the non-consecutive points/vertices of a polygon. Triangle doesn't have any Diagonals.

Take a variable 'n' representing the number of sides in a polygon. The equation is n(n-3)/2. Try this using the numbers.

Let's use this equation for the given polygon. Try it on your own by making polygons. Answer will be this only.

a) Quadrilateral (4 sides)= 4(4-3)/2 = 4 x 1 /2= 4/2= 2 Diagonals

b) Pentagon (5 sides) = 5(5-3)/2= 5 x 2/2= 10/2 = 5 Diagonals

c) Hexagon (6 sides)= 6(6-3)/2 = 6 x 3/2= 18/2= 9 Diagonals

d) Heptagon/Septagon (7 sides)= 7(7-3)/2 = 7 x 4/2 = 28/2 = 14 Diagonals

e) Octagon (8 sides) = 8(8-3)/2= 8 x 5/2= 40/2 = 20 Diagonals

I hope this will help you a lot.

Also if you are being curious, try it with the triangle, see the answer carefully

Triangle (3 sides)= 3(3-3)/2 = 3 x 0/2 = 0/2

So that's why triangle doesn't have any diagonals
