Answer:

There was once a farmer named Raj who lived on the outskirts of a small village. He lived with his wife and two sons. Raj was a hardworking and diligent man. He never said 'no' to a job and was always ready to tackle a task. One day after work he saw a group of women by the village river.Upon nearing the scene Raj found out that the headmaster's son had accidentally fallen into the water while playing with his friends. Without any hesitation Raj immediately jumped in and saved the child. Later that evening the headmaster and his wife visited Raj at his home and as a token of appreciation gifted him a watch. Days passed. Everyone called Raj a hero and needless to say, he was indeed very flattered with the new title. He would proudly wear his watch everywhere with the purpose of showing off to the villagers. His wife would scold him saying to store the watch for special occasions like weddings but Raj refused to obey. Once Raj was working in the field of one of the landlords, carrying piles of hay. As usual he was wearing his watch. After a few minutes he decided to take rest and sat down for a short break. The cool breeze blew softly and slowly and calmed him down. But what happened next horrored Raj. He suddenly realised that his watch was missing!!! It was no ordinary watch , atleast to him, it wasn't. It had sentimental value and to think of losing it was a huge loss. Raj immediately sprang up and started searching for it frantically. After looking high and low for a long time, he still wasn't able to find it. Raj wasn't one to be easily defeated though so he looked once more again. Suddenly he spotted a group of children who were playing outside the landlord's house, which was just nearby. He asked them if they had some how spotted the watch. They all shook their heads as a no. Seeing the poor farmer's sad expression made the boys sad so they offered to help out and search for the watch. Raj was beyond glad at the sudden kindness of the young boys and smiled in appreciation. Among them, one little boy who was the youngest of the group layed down on the ground of the field and did not join the others. It seemed like he was up to something but the others had failed to notice that so they called out to him and said,"Come on you lazy boy, don't keep lying there, get up and help us search for the watch instead!!!". However the boy refused to budge and it made the others very curious to what he was doing. At long last the little boy came up to them showing off the thing he was up to. Lo behold on his right hand was the lost watch. When asked how he found it, the little boy told them that the watch had fallen down in a small hole on the ground. It must have happened while the boys were playing football and they'd accidentally kicked the watch in it. Raj learned his lesson that fateful day and promised to keep his watch safe at home. And the boys who helped out Raj were treated with gulab jamuns prepared by his wife. The luckiest of all was the little boy who got an extra ten rupees for finding out the lost watch.
