Answer:

The Accelration of the Masses is (d) 2.5m/s^2 .

Explanation:

According to Newton's Law of Motion, Acceleration can be calculated as:

a=\frac{m_{2}-m_{1}}{m_{1}+x_{2}}g

=\frac{10kg-6kg}{6kg+10kg}(10m/s^2)\\=\frac{4kg}{16kg}(10m/s^2)\\=0.25(10m/s^2)\\=2.5m/s^2

Given:

M₁ = 10 kg

M₂ = 6 kg

g = 10 m/s²

To Find:

Acceleration of masses, a = ?

Solution:

According to Newton's Law of Motion,

⇒  a=\frac{m_{2}-m_{1}}{m_{1}+x_{2}}\times g

On putting the estimated values, we get

⇒     =\frac{10-6}{6+10}\times 10

⇒     =\frac{4}{22}\times 10

⇒     =0.25\times  10

⇒     =2.5 \ m/s^2

The acceleration will be "2.5 m/s²".
