Question

here they are saying that cytoplasmic strands passing through holes in sieve plates so forming continuous strand .....but the sieve tube are non living how can we call it cytoplasmic strand.

hey u are highly confused.!!
sieve tubes and basically the phloem is not dead,its a living tissue. The xylem is dead.
