Dear friend!

EMF is defined as the work done by the chemical force to move unit positive charge from negative terminal to positive terminal.

Poetential difference is defined as the work done by electric force on unit positive charge to move through a distance 'l' from one point to other point of called potential difference between two points.

Potential difference V = W/q = Fel/q

Hot this would help you.

Explanation:

The potential difference between the two terminals of a cell is called electromotive force in an open circuit. Electromotive force transmits current both inside and outside the cell. Electromotive force is always greater than potential difference
