let the present age of priyanka is = x years

acc to ques her mother's present age is = y = 3x years

after four years

mother's age = y+ 4

and priyanka's age = x+4

acc to ques

y + 4 = 2.5 times of priyanka age

y + 4 = 2.5 ( x + 4)

we know y = 3x..

therefore

3x + 4 = 2.5x + 10

0.5x = 6

x = 6 ÷ 0.5

x = 12

therefore presently priyanka is 12 years old

and her mother y = 3x = 3 × 12 = 36 years old
