》ans1) sources of resins:-
Resins are produced in special resin cells in plants, and are also produced when an injury occurs to the plant. Resins can be produced through the bark of a tree, the flowers of an herb, or the buds of a shrub. Think of a pine tree that has a missing tree limb.
importance of resins:-
Resins probably serve the plant by preventing decay, which is due to their high antiseptic qualities. They may also lower the amount of water lost from the plant tissues. Resins have certain characteristics that render them important to industry.
》ans2) Darwin's theory of natural selection only explains the survival of the fittest but, is unable to explain the arrival of the fittest. Due to the variations some individuals would be better adjusted towards the surroundings than the others. Adaptive modifications are caused through the struggle for existence. According to Darwin, the variations are gradual (continuous) and those which are helpful in the adaptations of an organism towards its surroundings would be passed on to the next generation, while the others disappear.
》ans3)adaptive importance of lateral line sense organ in rohu fish :-
The lateral line system allows the fish to determine the direction and rate of water movement. The fish can then gain a sense of its own movement, that of nearby predators or prey, and even the water displacement of stationary objects.
adaptive importance of swim bladder rohu fish:-
Swim bladder, also called air bladder,is a buoyancy organ possessed by most of the bony fishes. It contains gas and functions as a hydrostatic, or ballast, organ, enabling the fish to maintain its depth without floating upward or sinking.
》ans4)characteristics of virus :-
- viruses are the metabolically inert..
- viruses cannot make energy or proteins independent of a host cell
- virus can undergo mutation..
- some viruses have envelope outside the capsid
