Answer:

Heron's formula is pretty easy to use just the to thing keep in mind :- 's' is the semi perimeter of the triangle that is the half of the perimeter of the triangle

1) With the help of this you can find the area of a quadrilateral

2) With the help of this heron's formula accurate formula's for finding the area of triangle are discovered

IN GENERAL OR SCALENE TRIANGLE :-

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

(*where s is the semi perimeter and a , b , c are the three sides)

EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE :-

\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4}a^{2}

(*where a is the side)

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE :-

\frac{b}{2}\sqrt{a^{2}-\frac{b^{2}}{4}

(*where a is the common or the 2 equal sides & b is the third side)

* If all this scares you then don't worry just remember one formula i.e

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

and if you are in an IMO or something like that then no need to divide the quadrilateral into a triangle directly use :-

\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)(s-d)}

(*where s is the semi perimeter of the quadrilateral that is half the perimeter of quadrilateral and a , b , c , d are the four  sides)

I hope this helps you.........
