To look upon,1 hz=1 time period=1/t(in seconds)

Solve the above equation and you must get t=1.

So yeah 1 hz for 1 seconds.

But that doesn't mean 5 hz would stand for 5 seconds.

You see by putting 5hz in above equation,

5hz=1/t(in seconds)

upon solving,

t=1/5 seconds
