Perimeter of Quadrilateral ABDF  =  30 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Equilateral triangles BCD and DEF have perimeters of 18 cm and 12

cm respectively

BC = CD  = BD    & DE = EF = DF

BC + CD + BD  + DE + EF + DF  = 18 + 12

=> 3BD  + 3DF = 30

=> BD + DF  = 10 cm

AB + BC + CD + DE + EF  + AF = 40 cm

=> AB + BD + BD  + DF + DF + AF = 40

=> AB + AF + 2(BD + DF) = 40

=> AB + AF  + 2(10) = 40

=> AB + AF = 20

Perimeter of Quadrilateral ABDF  = AB + BD + DF + AF

= (AB + AF) + (BD + DF)

= 20 + 10

= 30 cm

Answer:

24cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: perimeter of equilateral triangle BCD = 18cm

perimeter of equilateral triangle DEF = 12 CM

Let side of ∆BCD = x

Perimeter of ∆ BCD = x+x+x = 3x

so, 3x = 18 cm( given)

x = 6 cm

Similarly side of ∆ DEF = 4cm

so, we get sides BD = 6cm and DF = 4cm

Area of rectangle ABDF = 6*4 = 24 cm
