How to determine by DU that which functional groups will attach in isomerism when general formula is given of that given compound
for example

All possible isomer of
$c {4}h {8} \: o$

Magnetron: Do do you mean by 'DU'? And actually the question is very long. It will have more than 20 isomers.

ZiaAzhar89: I want to know only that how many functional groups can be attached in this isomers how it can be calculated

Magnetron: Then only one of the functional group out of alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, ether can occur in the compound.
