Area of llgm ABCD=base x height =AB x DM---1
Area of llgm CBAD=base xheight=AD x BN---2
From 1 and 2,
AB xDM= AD x BN
12x 8=AD x 14
AD=12x8/14
AD=6.8 cm
Since AD =BC ( opposite sides of a llgm)
Therefore, BC=6.8cm
