Static friction is considered a self adjusting force because it wants to the objects to remain at rest and not move. Therefore, if an external force is applied, the static friction force will equal the magnitude of the external force, until it surpasses the threshold of motion.Jan

\large{\underline{\sf{\green{Frictional \: Force-}}}}

  • A type of special Force which opposes the motion of an moving object is termed as 'Frictional Force'.

  • It always acts in Opposite Direction of an Object which is in motion.

  • Eg - Applying Brakes of Cycle, while going down a slide.

\large{\underline{\sf{\blue{Answer-}}}}

\boxed{\sf\red{★ \: friction \: is \: self \: adjusting \: force}}

  • It neither had fixed magnitude & direction.

  • It gets adjusted according to Force applied (Applied Force) on the object.

  • Static Force can be termed as Adjusting Force.

  • Direction of Force applied can be reversed.

  • Hence, Direction Of Friction is also reversed.

  • If applied Force increases \uparrow, Frictional Force also increases \uparrow in with accordance to it.

\boxed{\sf{★ \: Hence, \: Friction \: is \: an \: Self \: adjusting \: Force.}}
