Hey brainlians,

Sumit is xyr old and Amit is 6 yr old. If their ages are multiplied, the result is their grandfather's age. Their father's age is 42 and exactly half of their grandfather's age. Then, find the age of Sumit.

Answer:

Sumit's age = xyr

Amit's age = 6 years

Sumit's age × Amit's age = 6xyr years

Their father's age = 42 years

Their grandfather's age = 42×2 = 84 years

=> 6xyr = 84 years

=> xyr = 84/6 = 14 years

This means Sumit's age is 14 years

Answer: 14 years

BECAUSE

Sumit's age = xyr

Amit's age = 6 years

Sumit's age × Amit's age = 6xyr years

Their father's age = 42 years

Their grandfather's age = 42×2 = 84 years

=> 6xyr = 84 years

=> xyr = 84/6 = 14 years

This means Sumit's age is 14 years
