hey buddies so todays question is on science... whom ever answer this they get 30 points !!! hurry up guys !
Answer the following questions based on stars and light years:
a) A star is 10 light years away from Earth. Suppose it dies on a certain day after an
explosion, after how much time will we see the explosion from Earth? Give reasons
for your answer.
b) A star is 12 light minutes from a planet. If the speed of light is 3,00,000 km/s, what is

Answer:

Explanation:

(a) Light travels at 1 lightyear = 6 trillion miles or 9 trillion kilometers

For 10 lightyears  it will have to travel = 60 trillion miles or 90 trillion kilometers

Time taken = 600 trillion miles or 900 trillion kilometers i.e., 100 years

(b)  1 min= 60sec

12min=12 x 60 = 720s

time (t) = 720s

speed(v) = 3,00,000 kmph

distance(s)= speed(v) x time(t)

3,00,000 x 720

= 216000000 km
