Hello!!

Thanks For The Question.

Your Answer is Here...

Methanogens : Archaebacterial group that produces methane.

Certain animals like cows, buffaloes, etc have temporary food storing stomach called as rumen. The animals swallow the food without chewing and it is stored in the rumen. Later, they take it back to mouth to chew it.
In the Kingdom Monera, there are two sub groups - Sub-Kingdom Archaebacteria and Sub-Kingdom Eubacteria. Bacteria of sub-kingdom archaebacteria can live in some of the most harsh habitats like extreme salty areas, hotsprings and marshy areas. Cell wall structure of Archaebacteria is different from other bacteria which enables them to survive in such harsh conditions. The bacteria of marshy areas are called Methanogens. Methanogens are present in the gut or alimentary canal of the ruminants which are responsible for the production of methane from the dung of these animals.

Hope It Helps
