Step-by-step explanation:

Function:-

Function is a rule or correspondence from a non empty set A to a non-empty Set B , which Associates each member of A to a unique member of B.

Representation :-

 f : A \rightarrow B

Graphically :

if any vertical line cuts the graph at more than one point then the graph does not represent a function, else it would represent a function.

Types of Functions :-

one-one function :-

A function is said to be a one one function if different elements of a have different "F" images in B.

\implies Also known as injective mapping.

✴Many one function :-

A function is said to be many one function if there exist at least two or more elements of A having the same F image in B.

onto function :-

if the function f : A \rightarrow B is such that each element in B must have at least one pre image in A.

✴ into function:-

if f : A \rightarrow B such that there exist at least one element in co- domain which is not the image of any element in Domain, then f(x) is into.

✴Equal or identical function:-

\rightarrow Two function f and G are said to be identical only if :-

\implies The domain of f = domain of g

\implies f(x) = g(x), for every X which belongs to the to their common domain.

More types of Functions :-

  • Composite function
  • Odd and even function
  • Periodic function
  • Inverse of a function
  • Inverse trigonometric function
