This rule is uded for elecric motors.

It states that if you strech the first finger,middle finger and thumb of your left hand in such a way that thy are mutually perpendicular to each other and the first finger points the direction of magnetic field the middle finger points the direction of electric current then the thumb will be directed in the direction of force.
