Is Peggy really cruel? Was Maddie happy with her behaviour? Why didn't she oppose?

No Peggy wasn't a cruel girl. She was kind.She protected small children from bullies. She cried for hours if she saw an animal being mistreated. But she did teased Wanad as it seemed a harmless fun to her, but she never understood how much it had hurt Wanda.

Maddie wasn't happy with Peggy's teasing game. She felt bad not for Wanda but for herself. Maddie was also poor and she had to wear someone's hand-me-down clothes.

Maddie was the best friend of Peggy and also they were fast friends. She was afraid to loose Peggy's friendship. And also She didn't want to be Peggy's next target.
