ANSWER

Something like :

"write the rational numbers between {\frac{-2}{5}} and {\frac{-8}{5}}" (if your in smaller classes and have just started with this concept.)

Or

"write the rational numbers between {\frac{-2}{5}} and {\frac{2}{5}}"

To make things trickier it can also be :

"Write the rational numbers between {\frac{-2}{5}} and {\frac{-3}{6}}"

Here, you'll have to take the LCM of denominators, i.e. 5 and 6, to make the denominators same, and then perform the usual steps.

These questions could vary, just take idea from them, they can literally be anything, that can be calculated.

WHAT IS RATIONAL NUMBER?

A rational number is nothing but : {\frac{p}{q}}. Just the fact, q can't be 0.

In proper language,

A rational number is defined as a number that can be expressed in the form p/q where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0. Rational numbers include natural numbers, whole numbers, integers, fractions, decimals (terminating, and non-terminating and repeating) and negative fractional quantities.
