When very large number of electrical appliances are connected to a single switch board , then there can be abrupt changes in the electricity . The consequences of it can be very harmful which can also lead to fires. This is known as overloading.

Over loading :- When too many appliances with high voltage are connected with the same socket or at the same time cause a draw of high amount of current from the circuit.

Precaution :-

• Too many appliances should not be connected in the same socket.
• Appliance should be connected to the fuse with the appropriate rating.
