hey dude plzz answer........The difference between two number is 26 and one number is three times the other.Find them.

then the other no is 3x

3x-x = 26
2x = 26
x = 26/2
x = 13


Hence, first no is 13
and the second no is 3x = 3×13 = 39

Let the numbers be x and y
then as given
x-y = 26
and x = 3y
now making it a linear equation
then
3y - y = 26
2y = 26
then
y = 13
then x = 3y = 39
therefore numbers are 39 and 13
