there are certain numbers of shell present in atom, we call them k, l, m and so on

in which the first shell K can only hold 2 electrons for ex: if a atom has one or two electrons it will stay in first shell if the atom have more than two electrons then others electrons will stay in 2 shell which can hold upto 8 electrons and after that all the shells can hold upto 8 electrons
