The term "central dogma" refers to the notion that DNA is transcribed into RNA and never the reverse. RNA is then used to create protein.

People have said that Crick used the term ironically or that he didn't understand what a dogma was. Crick seems to believe he was using the term ironcially. 

Ultimately, the central dogma of molecular biology was disproved with retroviruses that turned RNA into DNA. 

The term "central dogma" is not used elsewhere in the biological sciecnes and science is not considered to be a dogmatic process.
