Another example of refraction is the dispersion of white light into its individual colors by a glass prism. As visible light exits the prism, it is refracted and separated into a magnificent display.

Each color from the original beam of light has its own particular wavelength (or color) and each wavelength is slowed differently by the glass. The amount of refraction increases as the wavelength of light decreases. Shorter wavelengths of light (violet and blue) are slowed more and consequently experience more bending than do the longer wavelengths (orange and red).

Hope this helps you Friend...☺

First , let's discuss the dispersion of light .

Dispersion a flight means scattering of light in various directions through any mediun.

Now , let's come to your question .

Question - Dispersion of light through glass prism.

Answer - Take a glass prism . Let a beam of light passes through it. We will see that the white beam of light after passing from the glass palace will be dispersed into seven colours. The splitting up of white light into seven colours on passing through a transparent medium like a glass prism call dispersion of light. The formation of spectrum shows that white light is made up of seven colours. These 7 colours are -

▪️Violet

▪️Indigo

▪️Blue

▪️Green

▪️Yellow

▪️Orange (and)

▪️Red

It is however, usually not possible to distinguish all the seven colours of spectrum easily due to overlapping of various colours.
