The process by which spoilage of perishable foods is prevented using chemical or physical methods is called food preservation.

1- By cooling

2- By heating and cooling treatment

3- By dehydration

4- By using salt, sugar

5- By using using oil and vinegar

6- By heating and canning

7-By using chemical preservatives

8- By vaccum packaging

Advantages of Food preservations:

• it decreases the food wastage.

• it increases the storage period of perishable food materials.

• it ensures the availability of out-of-season food materials.
