HEY!!!!

Find x and y using substitution method only .(Plzzz don't use elimination method)
 \frac{1}{ \sqrt{x} }  +  \frac{2}{ \sqrt{y} }  = 2 \:  \:
 \frac{3}{ \sqrt{x} }  +  \frac{5}{ \sqrt{y} }  =  \frac{11}{2}
Thank you!

Answer:

x=1, y= root 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 1/ root x be a

and 1/root y be b

thus, a+2b=2, a=2-2b  (1)

3a+5b=11/2

From (1)

3(2-2b)+5b=11/2

6-6b+5b=11/2

6-b=11/2

2(6-b)=11

12-2b=11

12-11=2b

1=2b

b=1/2

Thus a=2-2(1/2)

a=2-1

a=1

b=1/root y

1/2=1/root y

y=root 2

a=1/ root x

Root x=1

x=1, y=root 2

Hope it helps!
