Lifestyle has important implications for capacity building and expectancy of life of the people. The Home Science Educational Institutions may recognize this fact, and consider incorporating lifestyle education as a subject in their curriculum. This write up shall facilitate the process. This shall enrich the discipline of Home Science and enable it to contribute more towards improving life of the people. This shall also be helpful for other educational institutions teaching lifestyle.

Here, sustainable means a situation which can continue for long without deterioration and has low risk; whereas, unsustainable means a situation which cannot continue for long and/or is accompanied by its deterioration, and has high risk.
