• Following steps can be taken to prevent corrosion of metals :-

• We can paint metals to prevent direct contact between metal surface and moisture present in air, which is the reason for corrosion.
• We can apply coating of stainless steel or aluminum on surface of metal, as they are corrosion resistance.

• Alloys are mixture of 2 or more metals.

• Brass is an alloy that contains copper and zinc as major constituents.
• Bronze is an alloy copper and tin as major constituents

• Some of the adverse effects of corrosion is mentioned below :-

• Damage of metal equipment or tools.

• On large scale, can affect metal bridges and can lead to an accident.

• Corrosion :- It is natural process that converts the Refined metal into a chemically stable form such as oxide, hydroxide, or sulfide.

Prevention:-

• By painting.
• BY applying grease or oil.
• By galvanisation:The process of depositing a thin layer of zinc metal on iron.
• By tin plating and chromium plating.
• By alloying it.
