E will form only covalent compound as its valency is four...

D is the metal with valency three

B is the non metal with valency three

size of D is bigger as when we move from left to right across a period the nuclear charge increases thus decreasing the size.

Noble or inert gases

Hope it helps..

i)E is the element which only forms covalent compounds. E has 4 electrons in its outermost shell. So it will share electrons to attain stable electronic configuration. Whenever such a question comes write the element in group 14 because all elements in group 14 form covalent compounds.

ii)D is a metal with valency 3. Groups 1,2 and 13 are metals. D is included in group 3 so it has 3 valence electrons. To obtain stable electronic configuration it has to lose 3 electrons which is called valency.

iii)B is a non metal with valency 3. It has 5 electrons in its outermost shell. So in order to obtain stable electronic configuration it has to gain 3 electrons.

iv)D is bigger in size. In a period atomic size decreases from left to right.

v)The common name for the group in which C and F belong is noble gases.
