A sentence having only one clause and therefore only one finite verb is called a simple sentence

For example Seema is a nice girl sentences have only one clause we can say so because each has a single subject and a single finite verb.

A sentence containing two main clauses that are joined together by coordinating conjunctions is called a compound sentence.

For example I was disappointed but I did not express my feelings here this independent clauses have been joined by coordinating conjunctions like but.

And a sentence having one main clause and at least one subordinate clause is called a complex sentence .

For example when the train arrives I shall call you you are the subordinate clause is dependent on the main clause to make its meaning clear and this sentence consist of a main clause and subordinate clause.

Hope u will understand.

Thank you

Simple Sentence :

A simple sentence has just one independent clause which means only one subject and one predicate. A simple sentence has no dependent clauses.

Example :

I cannot drink warm milk.

Serena failed in exam

Compound Sentence :

A compound sentence has at least two independent clauses.

The independent clauses can be joined by a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) or by a semicolon

To remember all seven, you might want to learn one of these acronyms: FANBOYS, YAFNOBS, or FONYBAS.

Example :

He was tired, and he had a headache.

Complex Sentence :

A complex sentence is made up of an independent clause (the main clause) and one or more dependent clauses.

Two or more sentences can be combined with a subordinating conjunction.

Some subordinating conjunctions are:

After Once Until

Before So that Whereas

Even if Than Wherever

Even though That Whether

If Though While

Example :

When he got up, he put off the light.
