It's actually breaking 43 and 15 into 40+3 and 10+5, then multiplying each other using algebra.
→ (40+3)(10+5)=400+200+30+15
The biggest multiplication goes on top. It goes the digit of 100 because of 10×10=100.
The numbers in the middle go to the digit of 10.
The numbers at the bottom will go to the digit of 1.
According to the diagram we get 400+200+30+15 and it is 645.
