Ozone captures those radiations which are of low wavelength.
It also stops the harmful ultraviolet rays. These radiations are very harmful for living beings.If these radiations will reach the earth directly then most of the living beings will have to suffer with skin problems.

Ozone is a protective layer present in our Atmosphere which filters the ultra violet rays present in sun light , teaching toward earth surface.

The Ozone having thickness 40 km , purifies ultra violet rays, ultra violrt causes many type of skin problems like skin cancer, skin irritation etc.

So, it stops reaching U-v ray.
