when a river meets the sea it is obstructed by the sea waves as a result the velocity of river decreases add the sediments brought by river are deposited in its mouth leading to more obstruction hence the river forms many small tributaries to meet the sea leading in the formation of a triangular Landform. This Landform formed is called a delta .
Example : Suburban delta formed by Ganga and Brahmaputra
