Sodium is a metal of Alkali metal Family. It is very Reactive metal. Due to its large Reactivity, It is always stored in the Kerosene oil or petroleum Jelly.

It is also used for making many explosive substances. Thus, It cannot be easily available. It cannot be given to the common peoples.

Although, most of the teachers brings that fro there schools because it is given to the school having lab facilities. I also brought that once from my college when I was doing the Msc.

It was really explosive and it was whitish in color like the white stone appears but it is totally covered with petroleum jelly.

When I saw it and i through it into water, a blast occurs but nothing broke but only sound came. and whole water became oily.

This same will happen to you if you will put it into the water.

Never eat it, It is really harmful, and it may lead to the injury in your mouth and damage to the sensitive tissues ad glands in mouth.

150 g of sodium is not little. It is very much. The packet of sodium available in school is about 500 g, not more than that. Now, you can imagine the quantity of Sodium you have.

Hope it helps.
