Step-by-step explanation:

14. Fill in the blanks:

(i) Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

(ii) Area of parallelogram = base × height

(iii) Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (a + b) × height

  • a and b are parallel sides.
  • height is the distance b/w them.

(iv) The parallel sides of a trapezium are 14 cm and 18 cm and the distance b/w them is 8 cm. The area of the trapezium is 128 cm².

⇒ 1/2 × (a + b) × height(distance b/w parallel sides)

⇒ 1/2 × (14 + 18) × 8

⇒ 1/2 × (32) × 8

⇒ 16 × 8

∴ 128 cm² is the area of the trapezium.
