Hey bestie !!

Here is your answer !!

♦__________________________________________♦

♦♦ Metaloxides are basic in nature.Hence they show basic behavior.

♦♦ Metal oxides are basic in nature as when they react with dilute acid like HCL to form salt and water (H2O).

♦♦ Then they again react with water and metalhydroxides are formed as product.

♦♦ These metal oxides are basic in nature means alkaline.

♦________________________________________♦

Lemme explain you the concept by taking an example :-

Metal oxide +Acid ->Salt +water

Let us take example of Copper which is a metal.

So here is the reaction :-

CuO+2HCL->CaCl2+H2O

♦ In the reaction Copper chloride is formed.

♦♦ Other example:-

Calcium is also a metal. Here is the reaction

CaO+2HCL->CaCl2+H2O

Calcium chloride is formed here.

♦ It is also a neutralization reaction.

Hope it is satisfactory :-)

Hii I will help you ✌️

=> Metal oxides are basic in nature because they react with water to form bases. Moreover, the oxides turn moist red litmus paper blue and blue remains blue.
