2x/a + y/b = 2. --- eqn 1.
x/a - y/b = 4. --- eqn 2.
Adding eqn 1. and 2.
________________
2x/a + y/b = 2
x/a - y/b = 4
------------------------
2x/a + x/a = 6 [y/b and -y/b are cut]
3x/a = 6
x = 6a/3 [ 6/3 = 2]
x = 2a

Putting value of x = 2a in eqn 1.

2x/a + y/b = 2
(2*2a)/a + y/b = 2
4 + y/b = 2 [2*2=4,,4a/a=4]
y/b = 2- 4
y = -2b

So, x = 2a
y = -2b
