Sati pratha was an ancient evil practice mainly practised in India. According to this practice, the women was also burnt alive after the death of her husband. She had not right to live and could not marry anyone another after the death of her husband

But today, at much extent, it is banned by the government and a life imprisonment will be given to the person who enforced any women
